The President
It takes many people to keep a synagogue strong and we are fortunate to have talented lay leadership. Adath Israel's lay volunteers are led by a President who is voted in for a two-year term. View Past Presidents.


Miles Herman, Adath Israel President

Miles Herman has a long history at Adath Israel, going back t when his father started coming to AI to say Kaddish for his father, back in 1955! Miles became a bar mitzvah and was confirmed at AI. He and his wife Mindy Cohen were married here and their daughter, Ali became a Bat Mitzvah here in 2005. Their younger son Zach will become Bar Mitzvah at AI in 2008. In addition, Miles was also a teacher in our Hebrew School for many years and has been a Bar Mitzvah tutor for over 30 years. Prior to accepting the job as President, Miles has long been involved in the leadership of the synagogue, including stints on various committees such as Adult Education and Finance. He has also served on the Board and on the Executive Committee. He has taken his turn as Treaurer and as Vice President of Finance as well. When he is not at the synagogue spending time with his family, Miles spends much of his time travelling the world for his company, Leaf Financial.
