Adath Israel
A Word From The Rabbi

Shalom!

It's such a simple word - but it encapsulates so much more than "hi," or "what's up," or "nice to meet you." Shalom brings with it a sense of wholeness, of home, of comfort and well-being. Just a few days into my "official" start as the new rabbi of Adath Israel, I have come to appreciate what it means to experience a full sense of SHALOM. I have spoken with many of you, and the more people I meet here, the more I realize what a beautiful homecoming this is. I grew up in the Philadelphia area - but to return to my roots, to my and my wife Dava's extended
family here in the region, and also to re-connect with so many familiar faces, while meeting so many wonderful new people - this is a dream come true. We are so excited to raise our son Aiden in this wonderful new synagogue home of ours.

So, shalom. Please stop by on Shabbat or during the week so that we can get to know one another. Call and find out about the many get-to-know-you events over the coming months, so that we can deepen our friendships and connections to our synagogue community. In these exciting weeks leading up to the High Holidays, I am enjoying this sense of coming home - but my true prayer is that all of us share in that sense of "coming home to Adath Israel" - to finding a sense of welcome and warmth as a part of this synagogue community.
