Adath Israel
Renovation
From its humble and mobile beginnings, Adath Israel has become an active, vibrant and vital part of the Jewish community in Lower Merion. We are the spiritual home for more than 600 families; men and women who find inspiration, strength and spiritual fulfillment within our walls. As we continue to grow, we have made changes to our facility to accommodate the changing needs of our congregation.

We currently house:
  • Thirty spacious classrooms with wireless internet access and SmartBoard technology;
  • A fully accessible, modernized and secure Education suite;
  • A beautiful Judaica Shop with an enhanced selection of giftware, ritual objects and holiday items, in addition to the largest selection of sacramental wine on the Main Line;
  • The Tabas Center - a modular auditorium, accommodating meeting spaces of various sizes;
  • The Sklaroff Multimedia Center - a state-of-the-art computer education and conference facility;
  • The Girsh Auditorum - a 60'x90' ballroom, complete with full stage, lighting and stained glass, that will accommodate parties and events of up to 400 people;
  • The Tuttleman Chapel - home of our daily minyan and a perfect setting for small, intimate wedding ceremonies;
  • The Mandell Sanctuary - the center of our spiritual home, it now includes a magnificent series of stained glass windows created by Benoit Gilsoul, a renowned artist of the 20th century whose work appears in synagogues and churches throughout the United States as well as the United Nations Building in New York. These windows, originally installed at Congregation Beth T'fillah of Overbrook Park, were brought to Adath Israel in 2006.
