Updated COVID-19 Guidelines (as of 3/2/2022)

Updated Guidelines for Indoor Activities – Adath Israel (March 2, 2022)

Adath Israel’s current Covid policies have been updated based on the latest CDC updates including the most recent guidance regarding masking. This policy is subject to change in response to disease rates or guideline changes from the CDC, state, or local health departments. These recommendations are based on trends/rates of infection and complication in Montgomery and surrounding counties. As of Feb 28, 2022, Montgomery and the surrounding counties fall within the medium risk category as defined by the CDC.

These guidelines have been established to mitigate transmission, especially to those in our community who are at high risk or cannot yet be vaccinated because they are ineligible for vaccine (primarily due to age).

Separate guidelinens for ECLC and Makom may be in place, but will be consistent with the overall goals.

Basic Infection Prevention Measures:

  • By attending services or events all attendees confirm that:
    • They are fully vaccinated if eligible (including booster if eligible)
    • They have not tested positive for Covid in the past 5 days*
    • If not eligible for the vaccine (under 5) that they have not been in direct contact with someone with Covid within the past 5 days
    • They do not currently have symptoms consistent with Covid including but not limited to fever, cough, shortness of breath, or loss of taste or smell.
  • Masking will now be optional for service/event attendees.
    • Persons at high risk for illness or complications of Covid-19 or who live with or care for persons at high risk for severe illness should consider continued masking.
    • N95 or KN95 masks which are currently widely available provide the best protection for the wearer. (During the most recent omicron surge, cloth and ill-fitting masks were shown to do little to prevent infection.)
    • Persons testing positive for Covid greater than 5 but less than 10 days ago should continue to mask.
    • Persons who have been in direct contact with someone testing positive for Covid in the previous 10 days should continue to mask.
  • Alcohol hand sanitizer (Containing at least 60% alcohol) will be available at multiple sites. It is recommended that it is used upon entry and during events.

Food service: Take away containers will be available for anyone who opts not to eat at Kiddush.

Notification of illness or infection:

  • In the event that someone should become ill during an event, they should let the program leader know, isolate themselves, and leave if they can do so safely.
  • After an event, attendees are asked to let the executive director of Adath Israel know if they become symptomatic and/or test positive within 2 days of having attended an Adath Israel event. Individual information will be kept private, but Adath Israel will notify participants if they may have come in contact with Covid, allowing for appropriate testing and quarantine.
