MLK Days of Service

The Adath Israel community is proud to offer a variety of engaging activities each year in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service!

In 2018, we offered activities on both Sunday, January 14 and Monday, January 15 in which volunteers:

Prepared meals for people who are homebound and in need through Cook for a Friend

Prepared meals and lunch bags for the clients of Connect by Night Emergency Homeless Shelter

Held a blood drive through the American Red Cross

Partnered with the Church of St. Asaph to sew bright, cheery pillowcases and create cards for patients at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) as part of Cases for Smiles

Took the lead in representing Adath Israel at the MLK Forum, an interfaith event which brought over 300 people together, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy with Rep. Dwight Evans.

Stay tuned in the coming months as we plan next year's activities!
