Social Justice Task Force

The Social Justice Task Force (SJTF) began as the passion project of a group of Adath Israel congregants who participated in lay leadership training called Na’aseh v’Nishma – “Doing and Learning.” Our mission is to increase engagement of the Adath Israel congregation with our local community of neighbors to take action for social justice. The goal is to make social action an ongoing and visible part of Adath Israel.

On October 21 and 22, 2017, the SJTF organized a Social Justice Weekend, which culminated in a Walk Among Neighbors in partnership with the Church of St. Asaph. Participants completed the one-mile walk from Adath Israel to the Church, engaging in meaningful dialogue along the way, then met with representatives from a variety of local social justice-focused groups.
