Scrip Program

Members of our community may buy gift cards for full face value from over 780 retail brands. They then redeem them for full face value, and Adath Israel keeps a percentage rebate as revenue. For example, Giant offers a 4% rebate. This means that if you purchase one $100 gift card, you will earn $4 in rebates for Adath Israel.

Scrip is available from a variety of retailers including Acme, Giant, Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Home Depot, Dick's Sporting Goods, Gap, Old Navy, and Wawa. We place orders several times a year. Order take less than one week to arrive.  There may be a small delivery fee charged if we are not ordering at that time.  Click here for a full list of retailers including their rebates.

You may pay for your scrip purchases with cash or a check made payable to Adath Israel. If you prefer to purchase online, click here to enroll and use Adath Israel's registration code: 566E792E8196

Scrip may be purchased by credit card for a 2.5% processing fee.

To purchase scrip or learn more, contact our scrip coordinator, Sara Beth, at (610) 934-1907 or by clicking here.

High Holiday Appeal

The donations we receive during the High Holiday Appeal go to the heart of our operating budget. It and the Mandell event are our two largest fundraising events of the year and, without them, we simply would not meet our budget.  Without the Appeal, we could not provide the level of services and programming expected, desired and needed by our community.  Our dues do not cover the entire cost of running Adath Israel.  The pre-school and religious school tuition does not cover the entire cost of educating our children…the future of our community.  The programming fees collected throughout the year do not cover the entire cost of programming.  The High Holiday Appeal is the lifeblood of this synagogue and this community.  For these reasons, it is so important for you to participate and at a level that is comfortable for you, but meaningful to the community.

Business Tax Credit

PA Tax Credit for Businesses (EITC)

By using the EITC, you can help Adath Israel’s Preschool!

Pennsylvania businesses are eligible for a tax credit—not simply a deduction—by making donations to a scholarship organization like Adath Israel. The EITC program allows our business stake-holders to redirect tax dollars to support scholarships for talented students who could not otherwise afford to attend Adath Israel’s Preschool.

EITC provides companies with a 75% tax credit up to $300,000 for donations to a nonprofit scholarship or educational improvement organization. The tax credit increases to 90% if the company commits to making the same donation(s) for two consecutive years. Tax credits may be applied against the tax liability of a business for the tax year in which the contribution was made.

Pennsylvania businesses that pay any of the following taxes are eligible to participate in the EITC program:

Personal Income Tax of S Corp shareholders or partners in a general or limited partnership Corporate Net Income Tax
Capital Stock and Franchise Tax
Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax
Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
Insurance Premiums Tax
Mutual Thrift Institutions Tax

The EITC program is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) on a first-come, first-served basis.
